Description:

It has the title and "For Mrs Chas R Murphy With Kindest wishes of/LaHuffman" along the bottom of the image. The image is composed somewhat similarly to George Catlin's painting "After the Buffalo Chase" and shows two horses, and three downed buffalo and has some hand tinting including blood in the foreground and some hand sketched texture added which gives it the look of a fully sketch rather than a print of a photograph. The specifics on Mrs. Charles R. Murphy are not given, but a Charles R. Murphy owned the Ox Yoke dude ranch near Emigrant, Montana, and was previously associated with the Flying D ranch. His wife was Peg Ann Murphy.

Rating Definition:

Very good with clear image and mild wear on the frame. Provenance: The John Fox Collection.
