This revolver's uniquely designed factory engraving was executed in 1985 by S&W master engraver Paul Piquette with beautiful scrollwork in wedges as well as accenting the design lines and factory markings. The S&W logo on the sideplate has been embellished in a solid gold inlay along with the caliber ".44" gold inlaid on the ejector shroud and gold single bands at the muzzle and rear of the cylinder. The cylinder release has been blued creating an attractive contrast against the stainless steel frame. The Goncalo Alves grip panels have solid gold S&W medallions as well as gold screw escutcheons to compliment the gold accents on the rest of the revolver. The top of the back strap is gold inlaid with a fine large "H" for "Hank," the world famous country singer and song writer Hank Williams Jr., who special ordered this incredible one-of-a-kind factory engraved 44 Magnum through G.T. Distributors of Rossville, GA. Hank Jr.'s own FFL records reflect he took delivery on August 28, 1985. Includes the original box with end label marked "CUST. ENG." Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original gold inlay, limited handling evidence, and a light cylinder drag line. The grips are also excellent with only the faintest edge wear along the bottom of the right panel. The box is very fine with minor wear. Mechanically excellent.
