Scarce Remington Elliot's Patent Single Shot Vest Pocket Derringer

One of likely less than 10,000 estimated to have been manufactured between 1867 and 1888. These pistols feature an interesting combination hammer-breechblock. The barrel screws into the frame and is marked with the standard two-line address and patent marking on top. The serial number is found on the underside of the barrel and frame and is hand marked on the inside of both grip panels. Fitted with a silver bead front sight and smooth rosewood grips. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

ConditionFine, retains 75% plus of the original nickel finish with the balance having flaked to mostly a smooth grey patina. There are a series of numerous minor dings on the bottom of the barrel and top of the frame. The dark grips are very good with minor chips absent from both top front corners and otherwise light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
