Description:

Manufactured in Canada and dated "1944" on the right of the receiver, this is the signature British light machine gun used in World War II, seeing service in various conflicts into the 1980s. The Bren is based on the ZB vz.26, originally developed in Czechoslovakia. Blade front and elevation adjustable peep rear sights, with a folding carry handle on the quick-detach barrel, hardwood pistol grip and buttstock, and mounting points for a field or vehicle mount on the forearm and buttstock. Includes a folding tripod, an extra barrel, green painted metal case marked "BOX, MAGAZINES, BREN .303 IN. Mk. I*" in white paint and containing eleven extra magazines, and three canvas spare barrel carrying cases (two of which are still in vintage paper wrapping). Provenance: The Allan Cors Collection

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine, retaining 85% plus original parkerized finish with some light scratches and handling marks. Attached bipod displays a smooth gray and brown patina with some light pitting. Stock is very fine with some scattered light scratches and dings. Included tripod is fine with some light paint chipping. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
