This rifle was manufactured between 1872 and 1888. It has "10" marked on most of the components including the buttstock under the buttplate, a globe front sight, adjustable notch rear sight, tang mounted peep sight, scroll and floral engraving on the main components aside from the barrel which is marked "FRANK WESSON WORCESTER MASS./PAT'D OCT 25 1859 & NOV 11 1862," the toggle link on the left side of the barrel, manual ejector on the right side, adjustable striker on the hammer for use with either rimfire or centerfire ammunition and corresponding dual firing pins in the frame, "PAT. APR. 9. 1872." on the left side of the hammer, and a deluxe semi-pistol grip stock with checkered wrist and what appears to be "A/OI/8/T" stamped at the toe.
Fine. The barrel retains 20% of the original blue finish blended with smooth brown patina, and 75% of the nickel plating remains on the other components. The flaked areas have dark brown patina. The stock is good as repaired with mostly crisp checkering (some smoothing at the front), a splice at the bottom of the wrist, and scattered minor scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
