Blued Bohler Blitz Stahl barrels with beaded blade front and two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear sights on the matted solid rib which is marked "J. PETERLONGO INNSBRUCK", Austrian proofs with 1925 date, and scroll engraving and gold inlay at the breeches. The casehardened backaction locks and receiver display light scroll engraving as well as a roebuck on the left lockplate and a pair of mallards on the right. The gun features rebounding hammers and double triggers. Lightly figured, fully checkered forend with engraved fittings, including the rotary latch release and pistol grip stock with oak leaf carving, white bone inlaid "EEP" and running deer, horn grip cap, raised cheek piece, and steel buttplate. Length of pull 13 5/8 inches. Weight 6 lbs. 15 oz.
Very good, retaining 80% plus original blue with much of the loss near the breeches, silver patina on the locks and action with some colors in the protected areas, and mild handling evidence. The wood is also very good with worn checkering on the forend, a well repaired chip at the toe, and crisp carving. Mechanically excellent.
