The frame has scroll engraving and entwining line patterns on the back strap. The two-piece antique ivory grips have attractive multi-point checkering. Includes a copy of George Gamble and R.L. Wilson's "A Life's Tapestry of a Collector: The Gamble Collection" where this derringer is pictured and identified on pages 324-325. Provenance: The Robert Howard Collection; The George F. Gamble Collection
Exceptionally fine with nearly all of the silver plating remaining and exhibiting attractive aged patina. There are some small very small spots of flaked finish on the frame and some light scratches. There is a small crack visible in the frame on top, forward of the hammer. The grips are fine and have crisp checkering, attractive natural tones, some thin age cracks, and mild handling wear. Mechanically excellent.
