Manufactured as a civilian version of the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon, itself an adaption of the FN Minimi. Designed to be a light weapon usable by one member of a fire team, the M249 is capable of using disintegrating belts of ammunition as well as STANAG magazines in dire situations. This specific example is configured in a PARA configuration for use by airborne units, inside armored vehicles, and in close quarters situations. This rifle features an integral muzzle brake, with hooded blade front sight on the gas block, heat shield and ribbed plastic forearm which holds the bipod when collapsed, carry handle, rail section on top of the feed cover, elevation and windage adjustable rear sight, and buttstock with shoulder rest. Includes two belt boxes, one belt bag, one brass catcher, small bags of disintegrating links, a tripod, and shipping boxes for rifle and tripod.
