Manufactured around 2006-2007, this pistol is one of a 200 piece run replicating the Krieghoff Luger of World War II. Chiefly a producer of sporting arms, Krieghoff had been tapped by the Luftwaffe to produce their sidearms, with the output ranking among the best military-issue Lugers in terms of fit and finish. While not intending to become a commercial pistol maker, Krieghoff is known to have released a number of surplus or rejected frames to the general market, often featuring a 5-pointed star on the right side of the extension, which was included on these pistols along with the contemporary "eagle/N" commercial proof on the appropriate parts. Fixed sights, with a blank chamber, the distinctive "H(anchor)K/KRIEGHOFF/SUHL" mark on the front toggle link, straw and niter blue finished small parts, and a set of checkered plastic grips with smooth borders. Both of the included magazines have bright polished bodies and matching numbers on the alloy bases, and the takedown tool bears a small Krieghoff proof. The case that holds this set is fairly unique in design, being made from two blocks of machined aluminum precision-cut to hold the pistol and accessories, with a matching number and Krieghoff logo engraved into the top, mechanical and magnetic closure mechanisms, robust hinges and a cloth outer sleeve/transport case. Also include with the item is an English language manual, advertising material and a certificate of authenticity.

Near new in case, with minimal handling marks. The case and accessories are also excellent. Mechanically excellent. An earnest tribute to one of the nicest military contract Lugers known, and a scarce collectible in its own right.
