Manufactured in Germany. The Champion model is a competition oriented version of Walther's P88 line. A limited number of these pistols were manufactured circa 1990s, and the pistol was not actively imported into the United States. Their limited production run and limited American sales makes the P88 Champion an extremely difficult Walther pistol to find in the U.S. It features a three dot sighting system consisting of fixed blade front and notch rear sights. The slide is marked "P88- Champion" on the left and with the Walther address and serial number on the right. As a competition pistol, this model is single action only and has had the hammer drop omitted from the safety. The front of the frame has several grub screws installed, presumably from a light or weight system which was previously installed. The pistol is fitted with a set of stippled wood grips. Includes a Sickinger leather holster.
Very fine, retaining 97% blue finish with some leading edge wear, and scattered handling marks. Grips are fine with the left panel having had some reshaping done to the top and the left panel has a cracked and absent portion at the top rear. Mechanically excellent. Holster is very good with flex wear from use.
