Blued steel barrel under the Damascus shotgun barrel which has a beaded blade front sight and two-position (one standing, one folding) rear sight on the matted solid rib which is marked "GEBR: REMPT, SUHL" in gold inlay and with a gold flourish on the doll's head. The shotgun barrel has a 2 1/2 inch chamber, choke constriction of .000 inches, dual gold bands at the breech, and a wedge of gold wire inlay on either side of the breech. The casehardened hammer backaction displays floral scroll engraving surrounding deeply cut relief game scenes including a red stag and a pointer on the left two separate roe bucks on the right, and a single mallard on the underlever. The gun features rebounding hammers, flip-up tang peep sight, and double triggers (front is a single set). Attractively figured, floral carved and checkered forend with engraved fittings and round knob pistol grip stock with matching floral carving, raised cheekpiece, and engraved steel buttplate number "10619". Length of pull 13 3/4 inches. Weight 6 lbs. 7 oz.
Fine, showing a period refinished brown twist finish on the barrels, attractive smooth silver patina on the action, loose of gold wash on the triggers, and light overall handling evidence. There is a tiny crack off the left lockplate, otherwise the refinished wood is fine with a few light dings and scratches and crisp carving. Mechanically excellent.
