Built off of an 1948 manufactured Winchester Model 70 action, this highly attractive rifle features a hand cut caliber marking on the barrel, original Winchester markings on the action, beautiful light scroll engraving on the bolt handle, and expertly cut floral scroll engraving on the trigger guard, floorplate, and action bolts. The engraving is signed on the front of the floorplate "Eng. P. Biesen" for American engraver Paula Biesen (Malicki) who is daughter and granddaughter to the famous Roger and Al Biesen. Beautifully figured multi-point checkered stock with ebony forend tip, blued engraved grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, and checkered blue steel buttplate. According to the consignor, the stock work was carried out by the late Clyde James. Includes a Leupold VX-II 2-7x33mm scope.

Very fine as expertly upgraded and engraved, retaining 99% blue finish with minimal minor handling evidence, crisp engraving, and sharp checkering on the stock. Scope optics are clear. Mechanically excellent.
