The included factory letter confirms the current grade, gauge, barrel length, and finish when it was shipped on May 4, 1886, to a J. G. Munroe of Buffalo, NY. J. G. Munroe was a prominent businessman in the Buffalo area and was involved in the shipping of heavy ore from Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Also includes a leather mutton leg takedown case.
